Weight loss


Have you tried to lose weight, but then put the weight back on? Are you fed up with constant dieting and are looking to make long lasting changes to your eating behaviour? Or perhaps you have never made dietary changes before. Elizabeth will not offer you a diet to follow, but instead will encourage you to make long lasting changes to improve your nutrition and health.


•Elizabeth will not give you another diet to follow with its rigid rules and restrictions. She will support you to develop an awareness around your feelings of hunger and over fullness, and for some people, their  emotions around eating.  You will learn how to eat more mindfully and adopt different ways to cope with your emotions apart from using food.


•The focus is upon building a balanced, nutritious approach to your eating, but also to enable you to continue to eat for pleasure. If you have medical conditions Elizabeth will give you advice about how to make appropriate dietary changes to support these. She will also advise you how to optimise your diet for general good health.


•Builds physical activity into your life to be enjoyable and a way of life rather than as a chore and something done short term. Elizabeth will encourage you to consider the benefits of physical activity for your health and wellbeing.


•Moves beyond a sole focus on body weight and weight loss as the ultimate goal to consider how dietary and other lifestyle changes can have other personal gains, such as improved sleep, increased self-confidence, healthier looking skin, and greater energy levels. This is because dieting has been shown not to work long term and it’s important to have other things to motivate you to make and sustain changes.


Outline of the support


Consultation 1 (week 1): Finding out more about you: This first consultation will be dedicated to finding out more about your personal reasons for weight loss and dietary change; your eating habits; barriers to making dietary/lifestyle changes; levels of physical activity; medical condition/s (if you have any); weight history and previous attempts at weight loss; and expectations of the support. Height, weight and waist measurement to be taken or given (if agreed) (60 minute consultation).  


Consultation 2 (week 2 - 3): Making changes: This consultation will focus upon starting to make dietary changes. Together we will set some dietary and other lifestyle goals tailored to your needs. You will be given guidance about how to make changes and some activities to practice at home (60 minute consultation).  


Consultation 3 (week 6 - 7): How have you been getting on? At this consultation we will discuss how you have managed your dietary/lifestyle goals and address any further concerns (60 minute consultation).  


These three consultations cost £150

More consultations can be added if you would like longer, more in-depth support. They can either be 30 minute (£40) or 60 minute (£50) consultations.







Discount for couples 


If you are a couple and are both receiving support at the same time you will be offered a 50% discount for one of you. There is a choice of sharing consultations or having them separate.



Refer a friend

If you refer a friend you will both be offered a 10% discount. You will be seen separately and confidentially.

Booking is required at the same time for this discount.


Payment policy  


Non-refundable deposit You are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the initial payment to secure your booking and within 3 working days of making the booking. This is to cover the costs of preparing for your consultation. At your first consultation the deposit will be deducted from your consultation fee. If you decide to cancel your support the deposit will not be refundable.


Consultation/s fee  You are required to pay in full for all your booked consultation/s at your first consultation either by cash, cheque or bank transfer (if by bank transfer within 3 working days of your first consultation). If you have private medical insurance, the reference number and the full details need to be provided at the first consultation.

Online consultations via Zoom, telephone, and face to face in Falmouth (Covid secure) are  offered.


Dietary support:  starting off

Are you concerned that your diet is not nutritionally balanced, that you may be lacking in a particular nutrient, or confused how to eat well with a medical condition or identified food intolerance/s? Elizabeth as a Registered Dietitian can check through your diet, address your nutritional concerns, and provide guidance about what and how to make appropriate dietary and other lifestyle changes.


The support is £100 and for this you will receive:


Consultation one: Further information will be gathered about any medical condition/s, your diet and eating habits, and your lifestyle. This is to ensure that the support given is personal to you, and the most appropriate. (60 minutes)


Consultation two: Between 2 to 4 weeks after the first consultation you will receive bespoke spoken and written guidance about dietary and other lifestyle changes to make, and how to make the changes.

(60 minutes)


More consultations can be added if you would like further support. These can either be 30 minute (£40) or 60 minute (£50) consultations.

Dietary programmes


Dietary support for Irritable Bowel Syndrome


Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a functional bowel disorder meaning that the gut of a person with IBS functions differently to a person’s gut who does not have IBS. IBS is characterised by a collection of bowel symptoms including abdominal pain; bloating; diarrhoea or constipation or a mix of the two; wind; acid reflux; and abdominal distention.

Dietary treatment for IBS is very individual with people reacting to different foods and in different ways. For some making particular dietary and other lifestyle changes may be sufficient to improve symptoms, and it is recommended to try these first before starting the low FODMAP diet, which is more intense treatment.  


Two levels of support are offered:


Stage one: healthy dietary and lifestyle for IBS.

This stage includes two 60 minute consultations over about a month £100.

At the time of booking Elizabeth will ask you to complete a food and symptom diary for 10 days. This will help to inform what dietary changes to make with the aim of improving your symptoms. Other factors which can impact upon symptoms, such as physical activity and stress/anxiety, will also be considered. You will receive support and guidance to make appropriate changes. 


Stage two: the low FODMAP diet.

If symptoms are not improved with dietary and lifestyle changes, following the low FODMAP diet may be beneficial. The low FODMAP diet stands for Fermentable Oligo-saccharides, Di-saccharides, Mono-saccharides And Polyols. These are particular carbohydrates which draw in water and are fermented by bacteria in the large gut causing symptoms of IBS. As part of the low FODMAP diet, foods identified as high in these carbohydrates are taken out of your diet for up to eight weeks, re-introduced one by one to test for tolerance, and then your diet is readjusted according to what FODMAPs you are able to tolerate to ensure that your diet is healthy, balanced and varied.

The low FODMAP diet is effective for about 70% of people who have tried it. * Ongoing support will be given to guide you through the three stages of this exclusion diet, which takes about four months to complete. These three stages are:


•FODMAP restriction (about 4 – 8 weeks)

•FODMAP reintroduction (about 10 weeks)

•FODMAP personalisation (long term management of your diet)


If it is decided that it would be beneficial for you to follow the low FODMAP diet a further £170 is required at your second consultation. Support will be given over three 60 minute consultations and one 30 minute consultation plus ongoing email support. Guide books from Kings College London, the leading UK researchers of the diet, are given plus other written information.


*For some people their symptoms may continue due to other food intolerances, stress or anxiety, or poor compliance to the diet.
